About This Wiki
This wiki is intended for students in Economics 520. All students in the course are encouraged to use this wiki to post handy mathematical formulas, notes on course material, and other content that may be useful to others taking the course. Every page of the wiki can be edited by anyone! The goal is to provide a way for students to support each other in learning the course material.
This wiki allows you to include mathematical formulas and notation, using ASCIIMath syntax. Some information about how to use ASCIIMath are available here. To create formulas in text edit mode, you type three left curly braces { { { (without spaces), then the math syntax, then close with three right curly braces } } }. Here is an example:
`f(x) = 1/sqrt(2pi) exp(-x^2/2).`
In order to view the mathematical notation, you will need to use a web browser that has MathML capability:
If you use Windows or Linux, a good choice is the Firefox browser.
On the Mac, there is a slight problem with Firefox's MathML support, but you can download a version of Camino that fully supports MathML here. Update:: this is now fixed on Firefox 2.0, so Firefox should display MathML correctly on all platforms, and I recommend using Firefox. You might need to add some MathML fonts -- see this page.
Some ground rules:
- Please do NOT post solutions to homework assignments or exam questions. General formulas or strategies for solving certain types of problems, however, are encouraged.
Please do not plagiarize material from other sources. Make sure any written contributions are in your own words. If you quote other sources, give proper citation. You may also set up links to other sources on the web containing mathematical results, articles, etc.Order Viagra Online
- There is no guarantee that any content on the wiki is actually correct. If you notice an error, please correct it yourself or bring it to the attention of Prof. Hirano.
